In November 1994, Rhonda Rieken’s first job as a licensed attorney was as an Assistant DA with the Waller County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.  Amongst her many duties as an assistant D.A. in a small county were representing Child Protective Services, prosecuting juvenile and misdemeanor cases, and advising county officials on civil matters, all of which contributed to the foundation of her 31 year legal career.  Rhonda has been a prosecutor, associate at a medium sized firm, solo practitioner, associate professor, municipal court judge, and most recently, 13 years as an assistant Public Defender in Dallas County representing children and parents in CPS cases.    Born and raised in Arp, Texas, Rhonda earned her Bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV/Film from the University of North Texas and her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.  Rhonda joined TIDC in November 2025 as a Sr. Policy Analyst in the Family Protection Representation Division.  Her work focuses on the court-appointed legal representation system for children and indigent parents involved in cases brought by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).
